NEWBS!
It has been a crazy few weeks up in Boston weather-wise. We’ve accumulated over six feet of snow, creating interesting commutes to and from work while also interfering a bit with our normal rehearsal schedule. Despite all the snow, we were able to find some time to bring in a pair of talented musicians for recent auditions. We loved what we heard and Fermata Town is excited to welcome two new members to our family this winter!
Please join us in officially welcoming Johnny DelToro and Sean Fortney as the newest members of Fermata Town!
Johnny is a professional arranger and freelance composer. He studied music at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pa. (where he served as the music director for the school’s oldest coed a cappella group, Two Past Midnight) and the Sydney Conservatorium of Music in Sydney, Australia.
Sean has a robust a cappella career involving The Vocal Company, CASA, Bucknell’s Two Past Midnight & MSU’s Accafellas. For this, he credits his beard (not available for comment). Sean’s masochistic tendencies towards school resulted in four degrees which allow him to help low-income students attend college.
The pair joined the group over the weekend of February 6-8 on a Cape Cod retreat weekend to kick off their membership.
When asked about their acceptance, both expressed their excitement to become a Townie.
“I couldn’t be happier to have been accepted into such a fun, tight-knit, loving group of talented individuals,” said Johnny.
Sean added, “Living in Boston is pretty great on its own but it feels much more complete and full of possibilities now that I’ve been accepted into Fermata Town. Beautiful people & beautiful music, it truly doesn’t get any better.”
