Bring on 2015!

Happy New Year!! Fermata Town hopes that everyone had a wonderful holiday season and is just as excited for 2015 as we are. This year is already stacking up to be one of the busiest in our history and we can’t wait to hit the ground running and hope to see you somewhere along the way!

We announced in October that we were selected to perform at the first-ever National A Cappella Convention (NACC) taking place in Memphis, TN this coming April. We’ll be performing during the Friday evening showcase featuring four groups including The AcoustiKats (Season 4 of NBC’s The Sing Off), Pulse (a new Super Group of Vocal Percussionists) and UCD Mix (past SoJAM & BOSS Collegiate Champions). It is such a huge honor to be sharing the stage with so much talent and we’re very grateful for the opportunity to share our sound with the a cappella community!

On top of this amazing opportunity, we found out over the holidays that we were selected to be a part of the Sing That Thing! television series in Boston premiering in April on the WGBH network. Sing That Thing! will have four competition categories: High School (8-60 members), College (8-60 members), Adult Small Group (8-16 members), and Adult Large Group (17-60 members). The choirs will perform before a panel of judges comprised of Boston-based arts luminaries and will receive feedback not only on such traditional metrics as Intonation, Rhythm, Blend, Diction, and Dynamics, but also on such factors as Complexity, Versatility, Stagecraft, and Audience Appeal. We can’t wait!!

We’ll be returning to Wilmington, MA for the third consecutive year to sing at their annual MARCH-A-PELLA concert on March 13 featuring Ball in the House. Also right around the corner for us is a super fun gig in Needham, MA called A Cappella GO, a night in which NHS invites back some of its alums that have continued to sing. We’re lucky and excited to have NHS alumnae Anna Miller represent!

These events are just the tip of the iceberg for what’s in store for 2015!

As always, thank you for your love and support!
